Drug Calculations
mcg/kg/min to mL/hr Calculator
Converts an ordered mcg/kg/min dose into the pump rate in mL/hr for a patient weight and bag concentration.
Formula
(Dose * Weight * 60) / (Concentration * 1000)
How it is used
- This is the standard formula for titrating vasopressors and inotropes (e.g., Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Dobutamine) on IV pumps that do not auto-calculate.
- Always verify the concentration of your bag, as pharmacies often compound "double strength" or "quad strength" bags in the ICU to restrict fluid volume.
