Clinical Scores
Revised Trauma Score Calculator
Physiologic triage score from GCS, systolic blood pressure and respiratory rate.
Formula
Triage RTS = GCS points + systolic BP points + respiratory rate points (0–4 each)
How it is used
- The triage version sums the three coded values; a score below 11 identifies patients who need a trauma center, and lower scores predict higher mortality.
- The national field triage guideline uses the underlying values directly: GCS 13 or less, systolic BP under 90, or respiratory rate under 10 or over 29 are each red criteria.
